FEATURED PROJECT
Project Overview
This simulation model is designed for any environment where professionals must implement documented requirements under time constraints.
The Problem
During quarterly ESE audits, the institution faced increased compliance findings and parent escalation due to inconsistent accommodation implementation and documentation.
The Business Impact
Increased institutional liability
Added administrative investigation time
Teacher strain and burnout
Increased risk of formal complaint
The Goals
Increase documentation fidelity
Reduce institutional risk
Promote sustainable institutional practices
Needs Analysis & Action Map
Utilizing performance-focused action mapping methodology in consultation with Subject Matter Experts (ESE Compliance Specialists, Special Education professionals, and Classroom teachers) behavior gaps were identified and barriers noted.
Following the needs analysis, it was established that implementation of ESE compliant accommodations, rather than content knowledge, was the biggest issue impeding fidelity, a scenario-driven simulation provided the best option for achieving the client’s goal.
Storyboard
I developed a storyboard to outline the three real-world scenarios the learner would face and the consequences of the choices made.
This simulation framework can be adapted for any compliance-driven environment, including corporate policy implementation, healthcare protocols, and regulatory training.
Using Articulate Storyline variables, learners would earn a score for Compliance Risk, Learner Impact, and Organizational Sustainability. These scores are calculated and result in a Compliance Dashboard that is adjusted based on the learner’s choices.
Development
Scenarios were developed in Articulate Storyline with variables adjusted for each answer choice, leading to individualized scores for Compliance, Learner Impact, and Sustainability
